The month of May is here, and it brings with it exciting times for Beit Krakow. At the end of the month we will celebrate the holiday of Shavuot, when we received the Torah. Preparations for the celebration will be underway soon, and we are looking forward to community involvement in the preparations leading up to the holiday and in the festivities surrounding it.

On May 14th, Rabbi Tanya has been invited as a guest speaker at the University on the subject of Jewish rituals surrounding death and dying. Please mark your calendars. More details will be announced soon!

This week we invite you to take part in Cafe Shabbat. We are trying to organize a special environment for Shabbat this week, and need to know the number of people who will be attending so that we can reserve the space. Please let us know if you plan to join us by Thursday noon. You may send an email to lacheeh@gmail.com or sms to 516 395 302. We will announce the venue in our reminder letter.

On Saturday, we invite you to our weekly Havdalah service in the Rabbi’s flat on Meiselsa to begin your week nicely with wine, cookies, and good company. Please remember that Havdalah now begins at 8 pm!
