Attack on Israelis in Bulgaria

The World Union for Progressive Judaism expresses our horror and sorrow for the victims of the terror attack on a busload of Israeli tourists in Bulgaria. We are mindful that this tragic event occurs on the 18th anniversary of the horrific bombing of the AMIA (Jewish Community Center) in Buenos Aires. While separated by years and by miles, these attacks are related: the targets were Jews, they were civilians, they were children, women and men.

We extend our condolences to the families of these innocent victims and our prayers that what is good and right shall vanquish the evil that continues to plague our community.  We stand with Israel and Jews around the world to decry this horror and we stand in solidarity with all who seek the paths to peace.
